Our walk involved finding our way to Rye and then catching the bus to Wittersham. I was particularly pleased to get away from Hastings after the water mains leak that left 31,000 people without water.

I was also pleased to have got out of hospital where they managed to remove Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (kidney stones).

The weather was glorious as you can see from my photos. We left Wittersham and headed for the Rother Valley. We passed through Peasmarsh and had our lunch at the Jempsons supermarket.

Then it was on to Rye where we visited the Waterworks micro-pub. To finish off the day I thought I'd get some fish and chips. No sooner had I got out of the door when a gull swooped. He got some of my cod but there was enough left for me to enjoy.

Thanks to my fellow walkers - Kevin, Duncan, Derrick, Sarah and Lucy. Total distance 8.1 miles. Now back to managing bottled water!
