Social Occasions

Duncan continues with his social events, and we will publicise them here. We will try to give at least two weeks’ notice.

Cheese and Wine, Sunday 1st October from 3:30 pm until 6:00 pm.

I have reserved the Bexhill Coronation Bandstand, opposite The Bathing Station Kiosk on De La Warr Road, for this event. (We had a very successful afternoon tea party there in June).

All Members are welcome. Please bring your own cheese and wine. For non-wine drinkers, or cheese eaters, bring your own delights. Food can also be purchased from the Kiosk. Why not invite your family and friends, making it a relaxing afternoon, and into the evening.

Web site- continues to be developed and we aim to use it more. For example, full membership database management, blog, newsletter. Adding Links and possibly Walk details with narrative and photos as well.

Thursday 21st September 2023 at 6.00pm at Bexhill Sailing Club. A date for your diaries, the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) of the Club will take place.

Ben Field Wrote recently – “I am sure we all value the fellowship and healthy walking which we share as members of Bexhill Ramblers. Sadly, you might be aware that our Committee numbers reduced last year, and now is the time when we need to replace valued, retiring, Committee members if Bexhill Ramblers is to continue. The vacant posts of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer require your consideration if the Club is to continue. We definitely cannot operate without a Treasurer, and Pauline will be leaving the area once her house sale is finalised. Obviously, changeover formalities will need to be made with the Bank prior to that happening.”

Under the Constitution we hold three committee meetings a year, plus the AGM. Those who put themselves forward to fill the vacant posts, require a certain element of interest and commitment outside Committee Meetings as well.

Full details of what is involved for each position can be obtained by contacting myself, or the retirees, and, for the continuance of Bexhill Ramblers, everyone is invited to consider offering themselves for these posts. The Committee are supportive of one another, so you will have help whenever you need it.

Please consider this situation carefully and let me know if you are prepared to stand for any of the posts mentioned.
